Down-Route ready to launch bizav crew, hotel and expense management app

A unique App that revolutionises crew expense management and hotel bookings is ready for launch by Down-Route after attracting tremendous support from business aircraft operators.

The App, which will be available to download from early November 2016, has attracted over 40 operators, managing 1,100 jets, to sign up to date.

Down-Route is free to use and combines expense management with hotel bookings in a single application, enabling expenses incurred by crew to be managed in real time as they travel around the globe.

Key features include

  • Real-Time collation of expenses fed back to company accounts or back office.
  • Free to use, unlimited use and bespoke for business aviation.
  • Hotel booking made easy - function to pre-set minimum property standards.
  • Better discount on room rates due to Down-Route buying power.
  • Web based account - no in house set up required.

Finesse Executive General Manager & Deputy Accountable Manager, Steve Finch said: “The Down-Route App is unique in the way that it combines both hotel booking and expense management - we are a fast growing operation so the opportunity to have real time control over expenses is very exciting."

Sovereign Business Jets Sales Director, Barry Chalmers commented: “We are very excited about this new product that will help with expense management and real time reporting. The direct hotel pricing is very attractive to our global operations and keeps everything in one place."

Air Alsie Sales Manager, Tom Carstensen added: “We were really interested to hear about the Down-Route App. The idea of getting good rates for our hotel bookings and then linking straight into an expenses management feature is something new and Air Alsie is looking forward to the launch of the App and being amongst the first to see the benefits to our business.”

Andy Hudson, CEO Down-Route, said: “We began working on this 15 months ago. The idea came from a conversation I had with the CEO of a major hotel booking service. It seemed so simple, and such a fantastic way to save time and money that I thought I must be missing something. After some research I could not find anything that did what we needed this app to do - it was then we put the unique concept that is Down-Route into development. The team combines strong backgrounds in private aviation, App development, an hotel booking technology, and we have spoken to both operators and pilots in our research - we have tested the water thoroughly before developing the App."

The App will be available to download on both Apple and Android devices and will be continuously developed after launch to include features such as the incorporation of social media Apps and table and theatre booking.
