Harrods Aviation back in 24/7 business

After a temporary ban on night movements during the summer period at London Luton airport, Harrods Aviation are pleased to be offering FBO services on a 24/7 basis once again.

The night time ban affected both FBOs at the busy Luton airport. Traffic wishing to arrive during the hours of 2200 -0559 GMT were required to travel further afield and out of the greater London area, often resulting in a long car journey into central London.

"It has been a strange summer for us," commented Kerry Besgrove, Director of Operations. "We train our staff to offer service excellence based on a very strong can do attitude. We have never been in the business of saying no, so to have to operate for a number of months under the restrictions we have faced has been challenging."

Besgrove continues, "Many of our customers want the ability to work into the evening or to be in the City in the early morning. The ability to utilise night time operations is vital to support the global customer community. It is a relief to be once again back in the driving seat, offering unsurpassed service every hour of the day and night!"

Sales and Marketing Director, Will Holroyd says "We would like to thank our fellow Air Elite FBO, XLR Jet Centre in Birmingham, for supporting us operationally during this period. It has been reassuring knowing that we could entrust the service of our customers who wished to land or depart during the night to an FBO that shares in our service philosophy." Holroyd continues, "primarily though, we would like to thank our customers who have worked with us, often changing schedules and itineraries to comply with the temporary ban. Their understanding and empathy with the closure has been very much appreciated.’

With effect from 1 October 2018, free movement without slot restriction has returned, and immediately Harrods Aviation customers are occupying that space again, highlighting how important it is to offer 24/7 access at Luton.

Harrods Aviation is fully engaged with the airport authority and industry bodies on this issue.

Harrods Aviation will be at booth 4600 at NBAA, Orlando, Florida from 16-18 October 2018.
