Inflite the Jet Centre helps to ensure mandate compliance on Legacy 600

Inflite the Jet Centre Ltd has completed the overhaul of an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft carrying out all required works to ensure the business jet complies with fast-approaching navigational mandates, namely ADS-B Out & FANS 1/A.

The aircraft renovation saw the jet upgraded with Honeywell’s FMS 6.1 Communication Management Unit, Cockpit Voice Recorder and Primus II Radio System, all in conjunction with ADS-B & FANS-1A embodiment among other mandate-compliant hardware. Further flight deck enhancements were also selected by the customer with a display unit upgrade, which saw its DU-870 displays upgraded with DU-875 high resolution display units, also made by Honeywell.

The works were completed at Inflite’s Executive Jet Centre at London Stansted Airport and were completed during a period of planned maintenance activity. This ensured efficient use of time while the jet was scheduled to be on the ground thus reducing aircraft downtime.

“It is very encouraging to see a customer consider these fast approaching mandates by utilising available advice and early interface to ensure enhancements can be completed during scheduled aircraft downtime” said Chris Creutz, Managing Director, Inflite The Jet Centre. “With robust and clear deliverables, this project was completed on time, within budget and enables this Legacy 600 aircraft to remain compliant with ADS-B Out and FANS 1/A requirements for the next chapter of its operational life.”

Due to pre-planning by Inflite The Jet Centre and time spent working with the aircraft operator to assess their needs, the overhaul team could ensure the customer’s requirements were met during this period of maintenance, repair and overhaul. In addition to essential works and cockpit upgrades, interior works and enhancements were undertaken including the introduction of inflight WiFi to the cabin, which was achieved by means of a newly developed STC.
