World Fuel Services unveiled two new fuel farms at Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré yesterday (24th April), in their position as new sole fuel provider to the leading regional French airport.
World Fuel Services have installed a new Jet A1 and AVGAS fuel farm which is fully compliant with the EU sustainability criteria, mandatory from 2020.
Since the contract was announced six months ago, the fuel farms have been quickly designed, installed and commissioned as part of a commitment to absolute efficiency and value creation for Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré. The Jet A1 fuel farm comes complete with an innovative bridger delivery process.
World Fuel Services will serve the airport’s business and general aviation customers, as well as major commercial airlines flying in to La Rochelle.
Mark Atherton, Director at World Fuel Services, said: "The last six months have been a great demonstration of our engineering capabilities. We were delighted to have won the initial tender, but the real reward has been delivering on our promises and bringing a new fuel solution to Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré in what is considered across the industry to be a fast, efficient, and well executed turnaround. The contract and investment from the airport is recognition of our position as a top fuel provider in Europe. We look forward to working with Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré for many years to come."
Thomas Juin, Director at Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré, said: "World Fuel Services are a key partner in our service expansion for Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré. We have been impressed with the design, efficiency and overall quality of everything delivered to-date - from the initial tender through to the fuel farm installation and its launch this week. We look forward to our passengers, commercial airlines and business aviation customers all benefiting from the service."
