United Kingdom TAG supports The Emily Ash Trust |
TAG Aviation has officially shown its support for a local charity, The Emily Ash Trust, by handing over 7 newly built bicycles, assembled by its employees. The charity will then gift these brand-new bikes to children who are recovering from cancer.
During the TAG Client Aviation Manager (CAM) Symposium, which took place on 15th and 16th March in the UK, a team building challenge was incorporated into the official programme where attendees, which included both employees and industry partners, were tasked to build a bike from scratch. The event was designed to focus on collaboration, listening to understand each other’s challenges and enhancing ways of working together as one team aligning with the TAG SPIRIT values, the ‘build a bike’ activity was a perfect way to bring the event to a close.
TAG was looking for a local charity to their base in Farnborough, UK to become the recipient of the bikes and selected The Emily Ash Trust because of the tremendous work they do with young cancer patients. TAG was so impressed with the care that the trust offers they have become official supporters and would like to offer assistance with future projects involving both fund raising and volunteering.
Piers Turner, Director of Flight Operations TAG Aviation Europe, with Emily Ash Trust representatives.
The Emily Ash Trust was started in 2002, initially set up to raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donors, the trust has now evolved and today their primary aim is to support families who have a child, teenage or young adult with cancer. They are aware of the enormous strain put on the whole family during cancer treatment from a physical, emotional, logistical and financial level and are there to help provide support and a little light relief for the entire family.
“We are delighted to have been chosen by TAG and to have had the opportunity to join them at this fantastic event." said Tim Rolfe, Chairman of The Emily Ash Trust. "The bikes are amazing and will bring smiles and joy to children and families that are locked in a desperate struggle with cancer. We very much look forward to working alongside TAG as a charity partner, going forward. Thanks again - everyone at TAG!”
Joanne Goodall, CEO, TAG Aviation Europe added, “TAG understand the importance of helping local communities as part of their social corporate responsibility commitment as well as global initiatives and are very excited to be officially supporting The Emily Ash Trust.”
