Las Vegas, NevadaServing up a great NBAA-BACEBy Alison Chambers |
Tennis legends Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi highlighted the value of business aviation to NBAA CEO Ed Bolen on Tuesday (17th October) as opening keynote speakers of NBAA-BACE 2023 in Las Vegas.
A one-time business aircraft owner (JetStar and Bombardier Challenger 604 and regular jet card user) - he sold the Challenger during Covid, Andre Agassi commented: "For us it's all about the efficiency. We've grown up around airplanes and it complements sport.
"You can be travelling continent to continent week after week. "It's so comfortable in the back (flying privately) I never learned to fly," he quipped.
"Business aviation offers the flexibility to travel, be back home for supper and take the kids to school - and that's a priority."

The power couple also talked with Ed Bolen about their philanthropy activity. Steffi founded Children for Tomorrow in 1998 to help provide pyschological help for children and families who have experienced trauma - from abuse, war or family loss. Andre meanwhile launched the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education in 1994 to promote access to education. People are most important they highlighted and it's where they like to invest.
Ed Bolen asked them about an upcoming Pickle Ball tournament where they will ply their skills against other tennis greats John McEnroe and Martina Sharapova. It is going to be a lot of fun, but Agassi joked he is looking forward to beating McEnroe.
Pickle ball is growing in popularity in the US with tennis courts being adapted, lines repainted to accommodate the game.
Alison will be providing another NBAA report next week. |
