Kissimmee, FloridaSheltair expands hangar facilities at Kissimmee Gateway Airport |
Sheltair, a leading provider of aviation real estate development and FBO services across the United States, celebrated the opening of its expanded hangar facilities at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM) on August 20th.
Since 2001, Sheltair has built and currently manages 86 individual T and box hangar units encompassing approximately 115,973 square feet, including 86 individual hangar units, which they currently manage. This expansion will add 19 new units, bringing the total number of units to 105.
Todd Anderson, Sheltair's Chief Operating Officer, emphasized, "The new smaller individual hangar expansion demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to the City of Kissimmee and the Airport, signaling further support for economic growth within the airport and the community."
Responding to the immediate growing need for additional smaller general aviation aircraft storage at KISM, the family-owned aviation company has completed its Phase IV development. The multi-million-dollar project, covering 2.70 acres, includes three additional hangars comprising nine oversized t-hangars providing a total of 17,622 square feet of space, as well as ten box hangars measuring 50ft x 50ft, with a combined square footage of 25,000. These new hangars are equipped to accommodate most single and light twin aircraft, featuring hydraulic doors tailored to modern-day pilots' needs.
With Osceola County expanding as a technology and agriculture hub, KISM serves as the gateway to the growing business sector and is the nearest airport to the state's world-renowned attractions.
Shaun Germolus, Kissimmee Gateway Airport's Director of Aviation, said, "The Kissimmee Gateway Airport is experiencing demands of significant aviation growth. Being at full hangar capacity, Sheltair's foresight in constructing the additional smaller aircraft hangar facilities will assist us in accommodating the needs of our diverse aviation community. We value our long-term partnership with Sheltair and look forward to welcoming our new pilots and aircraft owners.
