ELITE Simulations, a leading provider of advanced flight training devices, has announced the installation of its S812 FNPT II/AATD simulator at Skyborne Airline Academy in the United States.
The installation, which forms part of Skyborne's US expansion and fleet renewal, brings a more powerful and realistic training tool to its growing aviation training operations.
Skyborne Airline Academy, known for its commitment to providing world-class pilot training, selected the ELITE S812 FNPT II/AATD for its unparalleled realism, versatility, and advanced features. The installation represents an important step in modernizing Skyborne’s training infrastructure to meet the needs of the next generation of airline pilots.
Next-generation training technology
The ELITE S812 FNPT II/AATD is a state-of-the-art flight simulator designed to offer highly realistic training experiences. Featuring a convertible configuration for Single Engine Piston (SEP) and Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) aircraft, the S812 FNPT II/AATD simulator is equipped with both Glass Cockpit and Analog Cockpit configurations, allowing Skyborne to simulate a broad range of aircraft systems and operations.
One of the standout features of this S812 FNPT II/AATD is the integration of a twin OEM original Garmin GTN650 system, matching the avionics used in Skyborne’s actual fleet.
This ensures a seamless transition for students moving between simulator and real-world training. Additionally, the simulator is equipped with a 4.5-meter wide, high-definition projection screen, providing exceptional visual clarity and enhancing the realism of each flight session.
Designed for both EASA CS-FSTD(A) FNPT II and FAA AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device) certification, the ELITE S812 is now fully installed and certified, meeting rigorous training standards to support Skyborne’s expanding curriculum. The simulator will be used for various training applications, including procedural training, cross-country navigation, emergency scenarios, and multi-crew coordination exercises.
Supporting Skyborne’s US growth and fleet modernization
Skyborne’s decision to upgrade its fleet with the ELITE S812 FNPTII/AATD is part of a broader initiative to improve training quality as the academy expands across the United States. As the aviation industry grows, the demand for advanced pilot training solutions has increased, and Skyborne is committed to ensuring its students are equipped with the best tools for success.
“We are excited to welcome the ELITE S812 FNPT II / AATD simulator to Skyborne’s facilities,” said ELITE CEO, Peter Pruen. “The ELITE S812 FNPT II / AATD is an incredible addition to our US training fleet, offering a level of realism and flexibility that aligns with our mission to provide industry-leading training. ELITE’s reputation for quality and innovation made them the ideal partner for this important step in our expansion.”
A commitment to quality and innovation
The ELITE S812 FNPT II/AATD is designed to provide a high-fidelity training experience, with features that ensure the most realistic and dynamic training possible. The simulator’s integration of advanced avionics and high-definition visuals allows students to develop critical skills in a wide variety of flight conditions.
As an EASA certified FNPT II & FAA AATD, the S812 also offers Skyborne a cost-effective solution that meets both regulatory requirements while still providing a high-quality, immersive training environment. This installation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing
collaboration between ELITE and Skyborne, further solidifying their commitment to advancing aviation training standards in the US and around the world.
