Harrods Aviation has increased their service offering at London Stansted Airport with the introduction of an airside x-ray machine and direct airside/landside vehicular access.
In negotiation with MAG, the new owners of the busy London Airport, Harrods Aviation have agreed a process to allow vehicles to deliver and collect customers from private flights via ‘Gate
2’, situated adjacent to the company's impressive FBO facilities.
"This simple change in our service offering will greatly enhance the customer experience as they travel through our FBO, reducing transit time considerably and providing the opportunity
for passengers on designated flights to arrive at the steps of their aircraft without leaving the comfort, privacy and warmth of their own vehicle." commented
Paul Norton, Managing
Director of Harrods Aviation.
Harrods Aviation has further improved passenger transit time, by investing heavily in a new mobile x-ray machine.
Kerry Besgrove, Operations Director
comments, "to further support the
already industry known excellence of the wide body aircraft handling at Stansted, Harrods
Aviation has purchased a large self-contained mobile x-ray security
screening system which will
supplement our modern static security screening areas within our FBOs. |
|
This will provide efficient airside screening at the aircraft side when required. The system can
handle a variety of
baggage and freight, and will allow a faster passage for customers and a reduction in the number of items requiring secondary searches."

The unit is a bespoke design produced by L-3 Communications for Harrods Aviation and designed onto a Mercedes chassis. It is TIP enabled and quality approved by the DfT and
TSA. |
