BACA - the Air Charter
Association - returned to EBACE this year with an even greater presence and
ambitious plans for the three day event.
Spearheaded by Chairman
Richard Mumford
and a team from the Council, BACA came to EBACE boasting the highest numbers
of members the Association has ever known and a busy program of events for
2017.
At the beginning of 2017 the
number of BACA members stood at 225; the highest in BACA's history and
continues to rise.
A breakdown of the membership shows that Brokers make up
39% of the membership, aircraft operators account for 29% with the remaining
32% being airports, OEMs, service industries and suppliers. |

A key aspect of the
membership data is that 33% of the members are international and BACA’s
presence in Geneva was the main objective to increasing that percentage even
further.
The Association’s events are
among the most popular aspects of BACA membership. BACA held its annual
Spring lunch at the end of April; tickets sold out in a matter of days. The
event was so popular that the venue, the Merchant Taylors Hall in London,
was full to capacity with a record number of 290 people attending.
A pivotal event for BACA in
2017 is ACE’17, a dedicated exhibition and conference for charter brokers
and aircraft operators, taking place at London Biggin Hill airport on
September 12th. This is the first time BACA has become involved in a major
trade event, this has already been reflected by the level of international
bookings secured so far. A full day of conference sessions and training
workshops will deliver an essential day for brokers and operators alike.
BACA Chairman Richard Mumford
advises “We have an ambitious set of objectives for 2017 which means I have
asked the Council to really help drive forward a number of plans that
provide value to our members, the industry and ensures the Association’s
continued growth.
"We have already seen significant growth in member numbers
and in the demand for events such as the Spring lunch. Our presence at EBACE
is to ensure we continue down this path and encourage even more
international companies to experience the benefits of BACA membership. |
