BACA Chairman Richard Mumford
has just completed a 50 kilometre trek for the charity RedR.
Richard took part in TrekFest,
a 50km trek through the tough terrain of the English Peak District. RedR is
BACA's chosen charity for 2017, the organisation saves thousands of lives
each year with the training they provide to aid workers worldwide.
During his trek Richard set
some impressive statistics, according to the Fitbit he was wearing Richard
walked 62km, climbed the equivalent of 525 floors and took 88,000 steps. Richard started his trek early on the morning of Saturday 2nd September and
completed it later that evening. Egged on by members of the BACA Council via WhatsApp, the Chairman was able to complete the task and has so far raised
in excess of £1,500 for RedR, with more donations expected. |

On finishing the trek Richard
reflected that he "Felt mechanically sound and just about airworthy but in
need of a rest", subsequently Richard advised that he was "Thrilled by the money and profile raised for charity, but that it might not have been the
most sensible way to prepare for Air Charter Expo (ACE17) at Biggin Hill
next week."
