Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announced this week that it recently installed the newly-certified Advent eABStm Anti-Skid Braking System on a Pilatus PC-12.

The eABS anti-skid braking system received Supplemental Type Certificate approval in April and offers anti-skid braking without the need for power-boosted brakes, bulky and heavy hydraulic accumulators, and it does not require modification to the existing landing gear, braking system or master cylinders. It enhances flight operations safety and performance and the active and haptic technology smoothly reduces skidding and increases responsiveness and directional control.

“This lightweight braking system is perfect for customers who are concerned about runway conditions where hard braking could cause skidding or the blowing of a tire,” said Western’s Director of Aircraft Services Jody Harris. “It optimizes landing performance while providing peace of mind.”

The eABS system can be added to all models of PC-12, provided the aircraft is equipped with a Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) enabled GPS. It weighs only 27 pounds installed, comes with all required installation hardware and can usually be installed during schedule maintenance inspections or refurbishment.

Western Aircraft is an Advent Aircraft Systems, Inc. authorized dealer.
