Jet Aviation has announced that its third
hangar project at Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore is now in operation. The
official opening ceremony will be held during the Singapore Airshow in February
2018.
Bringing much needed aircraft service capacity
to the region, the 3,850-square-meter hangar began operation in early December.
The MRO facility is currently providing scheduled base maintenance to an ACJ, a
BBJ and a Gulfstream G550 from the new hangar.
“We built this new hangar to help meet strong
demand for local business aviation services, especially for more mature
long-range aircraft” says John Riggir,
vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation’s MRO and FBO facility in
Singapore. ”Our investment in the future with this new hangar clearly
demonstrates our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers.”
The hangar features a larger, upgraded
Interior Shop, including a 300-square-meter extension for drying rooms, a new
soft goods area and Wood Shop. The facility has also recently been approved as
an Upholsterer of Rockwell Collins (formerly B/E Areospace) 16G seating. As the
first and only approved 16G seating center in Asia, Jet Aviation is now
authorized to re-foam and re-style 16G seats, including that of China-registered
aircraft. The new hangar can accommodate up to two BBJs or Airbus ACJs or five
Gulfstream G550 aircraft.
Jet Aviation Singapore provides scheduled and
unscheduled maintenance, aircraft repair, defect troubleshooting and
rectifications and aircraft modifications. In addition, the company offers
interior refurbishment, avionics modification and exterior painting services. It
holds repair station approvals from various countries, including FAA #J8MY465N
and EASA #145.0461. It is a Factory Authorized Service Center and Warranty
Repair Facility for the Gulfstream series, an Authorized Service Center for the
Nextant 400XT aircraft and a Boeing BBJ line maintenance station. It further
supports Bombardier Challenger 300 / 600 / 601 / 604 / 605 series, Bombardier
Global Express and XRS, Global 5000, 6000, and Bombardier Learjet 30 / 35 / 40 /
45 / 50 / 60 series aircraft. Located at Seletar Airport, the company also
offers FBO services in Singapore at Seletar and Changi International airports.
BBJ Factory Authorized
Service Center
In further news, Jet Aviation’s MRO facility
at Seletar has been designated a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) Authorized Warranty
Repair Facility and BBJ Factory Authorized Service Center (ASC), joining the
company’s previously appointed BBJ ASCs in Basel, Dubai and Geneva. The MRO
facility in Singapore has also received EASA approval for the Gulfstream G650.
The Boeing Factory Authorized Service Center
and Warranty Repair Facility designation permits Jet Aviation’s maintenance
facility in Singapore to provide warranty line and base maintenance support to
the Boeing BBJ series. The company’s new EASA approval authorizes the Singapore
facility to further extend line and base maintenance support to owners and
operators of G650 aircraft that are registered in EASA member states.
“Jet Aviation has been supporting Boeing
Business Jets for many years and has a long and trusted relationship with the
aircraft manufacturer,” says John
Riggir. “We are pleased to further
improve our capabilities to extend warranty support to BBJ owners and operators
in the region. These new approvals demonstrate our steadfast commitment to our
customers to uphold the highest business aviation standards.”
Last month, Jet Aviation was named Best MRO
(Singapore / Hong Kong) at the Asian Business Aviation Association’s (AsBAA)
Icons of Aviation Asia Awards ceremony and charity gala dinner held in Hong Kong
on November 10.
