Nomad Aviation has received the
Registration Certificate for the successful implementation of the International
Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), is issued by the
International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).
The IS-BAO certification was
launched in 2002 by the business aviation community and was designed to promote
the use of high quality operating practices for international business aircraft
operations by establishing a framework for effective safety and operational
processes. It provides tools to perform gap analyses to facilitate the
implementation of best practices and delivering a Safety Management System (SMS)
appropriate to the operational profile. IS-BAO is based on the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards that prepare the operator for
domestic and international operations. It is applicable to both large and small
operators. The registration certificate issued upon successful completion of an
audit serves as proof of conformance to key ICAO standards.
“We are proud to be the
holder of the Registration Certificate," said
Thomas Koehli,
Nomad Aviation’s CEO. "The program centers on the Safety Management System (SMS)
and leads our company from establishing principles, to achieving an effective
SMS, and eventually attaining a risk-averse, generative safety culture.
"The program audits are conducted
every two years and ensure conformance with the standards and recommended
practices. The audits also provide valuable feedback to Nomad Aviation," he
added.
