Hong Kong-based private jet operator Hongkong
Jet is planning to expand its service and maintenance operations across Mainland
China.
A subsidiary of HNA General Aviation Group and
sister company of Asia’s largest business aviation company Deer Jet, Hongkong
Jet will upgrade and expand its HKAR-145 maintenance capabilities to include
approval to certify the Gulfstream G550 to 144MOS/12C level.
The Gulfstream G550 series first entered into
service in 2003, and as the aircraft comes into age, the technical skills and
maintenance facilities required to keep this aviation masterpiece flying become
more complex and rare. To bring solutions to G550 owners in Mainland China,
Hongkong Jet it set to expand across the country and serve a fleet of over 40
G550 aircraft using its HKAR-145 and Joint Maintenance Management (JMM)
approvals.

As the company explains, this business move is
about to bring both convenience and savings for Chinese aircraft owners,
protecting the residual value of the aircraft through world-class maintenance
solutions. To ensure the best-in-class services, Hongkong Jet has recruited and
trained certified engineers to add up to its set of expertise which includes
on-demand charters, aircraft management, and brokerage among other services.
As part of this move, the company’s goal is to
extend its capability increase (G550–12C) to the rest of its NAA authorizations
in Bermuda (VP-B), Cayman (VP-C), and USA (N-). Once this goal is completed,
Hongkong Jet will roll-out the process on the other aircraft types within its
scope, focusing on the Gulfstream G450, G650 and the Bombardier Global Express.
Hongkong Jet was established by the Fortune
Global 500 HNA Group as its flagship private jet operator in Hong Kong, and
operates as a subsidiary of HNA General Aviation Group which is the largest
company of its kind in China with the most comprehensive supply chain comprising
business aviation and general aviation aircraft charter and management, general
aviation airport building and management, FBO, MRO, and flight academies among
other services.
